DESCRIPTION:Session overview\nPreparing for the phonics screening check \nSession aims\nThis afternoon session will: \n\nprepare teachers to administer the statutory phonics screening check in Y1 or Y2\nsupport teachers in preparing children for the check and in analysing the outcomes.\n\nTeachers should bring with them the outcomes of any recent phonics assessments they have undertaken with their class. \nSuitable for\nY1 and Y2 teachers \nCourse leader: Alison Bailey\, Pathfinder consultant trainer\nAlison has worked as an advisor and consultant  for 32 years  on all aspects of primary English across several local authority areas. She was involved in the development of the Phonics Screening Check\, and her PhD was on factors impacting the successful roll out of a research-informed phonics strategy.
