A structured, practical moderation session of writing assessment judgements at Y6

Session aims

This half-day session gives Y6 teachers and subject leaders responsible for assuring accuracy of school assessments the opportunity to moderate together their assessment judgements of their pupils’ writing attainment.  Delegates will:

• be able to interpret the assessment criteria more accurately through guided standardisation;
• work collaboratively, with expert advice, to explain and moderate teacher assessment judgements.

Teachers should bring with them:

• all the evidence underpinning their teacher assessment for writing for pupils whose assessments they wish to moderate
• copies of the 2025-26 statutory assessment requirements
